We are trying to help the Levenshulme Community Allotment Project win one of the 'back to back' gardens featured at this years Tatton Show.

LCAP - are having a SUNSHINE AND VEGETABLES day as part of THE BIG LUNCH - Sunday lunchtime 19th July 2009 I'll post some photo's from the community event here after the day.

Community Plot Days are held every Saturday 2-4pm
Get involved with the development of this community green space for all.
Based at Tonbridge Road Allotments.
Grow veg, cultivate fruit trees and herbs and even keep chickens!
Individuals and groups welcome.

Objectives:

1) Provide appropriate facilities and green space to enable all and any local people to engage in gardening, social, recreational and educational activities.

2) Improve quality of life and strengthen community spirit by providing support to existing local groups such as the Children’s Centre and resident associations.

3) Work in partnership with other local groups and organisations in the Levenshulme area which emphasise health, well being and environmental improvements, knowledge and engagement.

4) Put environmental, recycling and regenerating concerns into our design; build, use, and promote enjoyment of the allotment and food production.

Activities of Levenshulme Community Allotment Project (LCAP):

A) Organising and maintaining the plot in such a way that as far as is possible its use is accessible to all peoples of the area, including under-represented groups and minorities.

B) Members will meet regularly to develop ideas for the allotment.

C) Hosting and delivering events for educational, social and economic development in response to community needs.

Membership:
Membership shall be open to all members of the community irrespective of age, race, gender, disability and political or religious belief, who are in sympathy with and supporting the OBJECTIVES of LCAP.
